Welcome to Red Star Acres Miniature Silky Fainting Goats
So cute YOU might be the one to fall over!

We're preparing to retire and possibly relocate, therefore, ALL OUR FAINTING GOATS ARE FOR SALE! Our little herd has been the best of pets to us, but we need to find new homes for them all. We're looking for folks who will love and care for them as we have. Prices are listed below for individual animals, but we will consider a multiple goat discount.

What is a Mini Silky Fainting goat? This is a fairly new breed and what the name suggests. They are small; the standard for does is no taller than 23.5 inches at the withers, and 25 inches for bucks. Their coats compared to that of a silky terrier dog. Oh, and they faint! Fainting is brought on by a condition called myotonia. Goats’ muscles freeze for roughly 10 seconds when the goat is startled or excited causing them to stiffen and fall over. It’s painless for them and they remain conscious throughout the faint.

All of our goats are registered with the Miniature Silky Fainting Goat Association (MSFGA) and the Myotonic Goat Registry (MGR). They are tested and negative for CL (Caseous Lymphaden), CAE (Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis), and Johnes disease. Goats each have microchips and are regularly treated with CDT and wormed. All are 100% fainters. More over, they are all loved and spoiled beyond belief!!

WINGS

SOLD!--Thanks JJ and Carroll

Spiritwood Ranch Morning Dove, aka: Wings. She got her nickname from the (Air Force) wings on her forehead. “Wings” was born 2-18-08 at Spiritwood Ranch, Elbert, CO. She came to live at our ranch May 26, 2008. “Wings” is the first goat that we fell in love with and made our decision for us – we had to own some. She is the most outgoing and friendliest of our goats, greeting everyone that comes to visit.

GO-GO

 ON SALE: $700.00 $500

Spiritwood Ranch GoGo Girl. She was born 7-25-08 at Spiritwood Ranch, Elbert, CO. She came to live at our ranch November 4th. We fell in love with Go-Go and her very quiet demeanor. She was a bit of a loner at first but has since flourished in the company of her new friends. She is quite the flirt and a real love.

CLAIRE
 ON SALE: $700.00 $500

Spiritwood Ranch Decadent Éclair. So hoping to add some brown to our herd, I got my wish when little Claire was born. We got the privilege of naming her, claiming her as ours since the day she was born, 10-26-08 at Spiritwood Ranch, Elbert, CO. Coming up with a name I thought….brown/chocolate with white in the middle – an éclair! Claire loves attention, and will remind you to give her some if you happen to forget.

 TOOTSIEPOP

SOLD!--Thanks JJ and Carroll

Redneck Acres Tootsiepop. She was born 2-15-08 at Redneck Acres, Salina, KS. She came to live at our ranch May 26, 2008. We bought Tootsiepop while in Kansas attending a family reunion! She was very shy when we first brought her to our ranch, but she has sure warmed up since. Toots is the first one to come running when “treats” come out – Frosted Mini Wheats are their favorite snack. 9-22-09 Tootsiepop became a mom for the first time, giving birth to twins - a boy, Jolly Rancher and a girl, named Tic Tac.

                   Jolly Rancher $650.00 $500

Red Star Acres TicTac and Jolly Rancher. These twins were born to our Tootsiepop early on 9-22-09, a cold, snowy morning. Jolly Rancher's coat is beautiful chocolate brown with a few white spots and white "boots". Tic Tac is white with chocolate brown markings and a very promising silky coat already! From day two - when the sun came back out, they have been tearin' up the yard with their energy - jumping, running and flipping around. So very entertaining to watch.
